Roman Marble Bust in Giallo Antico

This togate bust is sculpted from Gialo Antico (Numidian Yellow} Marble quaried in ancient Tunisia.
Techinicaly a limestone, the first recorded use of it in Rome was in 78 B.C.
Our piece appears to be from a sarcophagus lid, having on the bottom a flang for insertion.
