Original Watercolors by Mauro Rosi

Vedute de Antica Roma

Mauro Rosi is a Roman watercolorist and painter who paints the old Rome with a authenticity and love that has been lost to many artists in the present era. Mauro, better known as 'Vanni' in the streets of the Eternal City, has been an artist for most of his 42 years. As a graduate of the prestegious Ugo Bortono Academy in Rome in 1979, he passionately persued the life of a painter rather than a academic.

Vanni's use of color and form evokes the ancient Roman world in a most unique way. Like an authentic antiquity or ancient coin can do when in hand, one is pulled into Vanni's landscapes of ruins. His portraiture of an ancient sculpture or fresco engage the imagination as if the original were there in front of you.

Please note that these are not reproductions, but original watercolors.
The sheet size dimensions on all are 16-1/2 x 12-3/4 in.
